If your looking for a full or half day trip to the coast, several charming beach towns are located a short 35-40 minutes as you head west on either Hwy 46 (from Templeton) or Hwy 41 (from Atascadero). Cayucos, Cambria, Morro Bay, and Los Osos - each one is just minutes apart and offers something a little different. Or, head north on Hwy 1 from Cambria to see the elephant seals or visit Sam Simeon, home of Hearst Castle.
